From a  young age, I understood that being authentic is the best way to go about any and all situations that come your way. I tend to take that same approach when it comes to social media marketing.  However, I see that the authenticity is something that a lot of people lack! See, I don’t mean in the traditional sense, because I know that everyone is different. What I mean is that people see a plan for a business, and they try and follow it to the letter, without bringing their own unique flavor to the mix! We don’t live in a one-size-fits-all society, so you shouldn’t use a one-size-fits-all marketing plan for your social media profiles! You don’t think so? Here are a few more reasons why I hate one-size-fits-all social media marketing!



Your Story is DIFFERENT!

I can’t stand when some says “ This is exactly how I did it and if you follow these exact steps you will gain the same results”. WRONG! With social media, anything can change in the blink of an eye and your unique brand is DIFFERENT from anyone else’s, even if it’s within the same niche. What worked for another brand might not be aligned with the message and values YOUR brand promotes. Your marketing will always be different because your content is different. Your culture is different. It’s okay for you to adopt some of the information you run across for your online marketing. However, always stay true to what your feel is best. Get out there, try some things and create some results to see what works and what doesn’t!


Your Audience Isn’t The Same!

Listen, marketing to the right audience can be a hassle at first, but imagine going about your marketing in the wrong way simply because of what an expert told you “is sure to work”. NOTHING is guaranteed to work as different strokes are for different folks! The types of audiences you entertain are attracted to your brand because they relate to the message and values it stands for. You can’t use a Mc Donald’s marketing strategy to attract an audience that into bow ties! Last, but not least…


Not all social media platforms are created equal!

By now, you might have noticed that each social media platform (although may have some similar features) are not the same! The social media marketing strategy that you have used for Instagram will not be the exact strategy you use for Twitter, as these platforms attract 2 completely different types of users and publish content in their own unique ways. In order to gain true social media marketing success you must first understand the value of the platform and how it aligns with your brand’s mission statement & goals. Every platform has its pros and con’s, use them in the ways that will benefit your brand!


Believe me, if a one-size-fits-all approach always worked, everybody’s business would be booming! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that you need a solution that is unique for you. Fortunately, I can offer that to you here!
